Something strange happened with three of my clients last black friday.

When we were preparing a strategy for black friday and reviewing our shopping and pmax campaigns by product, we saw the £150 product had a lower CPA than the £50ish products…. weird.

Of course, there was a volume difference to take into account, we sold less of the larger bundles - but not by that much.

So we decided to split them out and give that big bundle more budget in a seperate campaign to test.

Result? 34% more revenue YoY, higher AOV, LTV and happier customers.

We found it was quite a different type of customer buying the bigger bundle, still mostly new customers — but they were much more comitted to making a lifestyle change (this was a supplement product) than those buying the smaller £50ish pack…

1) Check your CPA & ROAS by product over time, compare against KPI’s

2) Talk to your client about the business impact of selling higher vs lower priced goods/services (it may be bigger impact that you think)

3) Bundle together best selling products and add a cherry on top (faster shipping, big discount, VIP service, exclusive gift box) for BFCM.
